HELLO WORLD

This is my first blog post! I would like to introduce myself; I’m Meg. I live in Bristol and I am obsessed with fashion (especially second hand fashion).

Each piece of preloved clothing manifests its own story, and I aim to tell that story within each outfit I create.

I started clothemod to match everyday people with special pieces of clothing that are neither new or disposable.

The fast fashion industry has encouraged a societal mentality that fashion is disposable. I believe that this is coming to an end, and a reason why I started Clothemod; to create a community of people wearing and sharing clothing which prevents clothing from being wasted. Say goodbye to the overflowing wardrobe and hello to fresh (but second hand) outfits EVERY MONTH.

There is beauty in being conscious of what we wear, knowing a clothing’s origin, and where it goes next.

I especially love finding vintage clothing because there is always wonder around what era is was designed in, who wore it before, and to what occasion.

I believe that clothing has a power to give confidence to the wearer, and create a narrative around the feelings of the wearer too. For example, if I am feeling ultra confident and am going to an event, my outfit will speak that too! There will be vibrant colours, bold silhouettes and maybe a frill or two. However, if I am going to an event, but don't feel all that confident, putting on that ultra outgoing outfit will influence confidence in me.

I aim to bring that power and confidence to people too through my styling.
